Autumn Equinox 2023

Autumn Equinox Greetings!

The Autumn Equinox arrives late in the evening on the West Coast on Friday, September 22nd and early in the morning on Saturday, September 23rd on the East Coast, Europe, Africa, India & Asia. The Autumn Equinox is the moment of perfect balance between day & night as we descend into the more internal, introspective half of the year in the Northern Hemisphere.

This year's autumn season will be energized by 2 eclipses that will jar us out of old patterns and prompt us to re-create our lives on a healthier level. Say, for example, you always see the downside in situations-this will be an opportunity to practice optimism. You may see that your positive thoughts attract more positive circumstances to you. And if you normally only see the positive in situations but do not realistically consider any pitfalls, you may learn a bit about taking precautions that will protect you in the future.

Before delving further into the eclipses and Autumn Equinox Predictions, I'd like to share some glimpses of my recent trip to Mexico to visit pyramids, ancient archeological sites, and artists' enclaves in Oaxaca, San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato & Mexico City. Mexico truly is a rich repository of ancient wisdom & culture. The people have a profound connection with nature, particularly the stars & planets, which of course, is of particular interest to me! What was most thrilling about this trip to Mexico was seeing the ancient pyramids' alignments with Orion's Belt, Sirius, Venus, and the seasonal alignments of the sun at the equinoxes and solstices. The pyramids really are power points on the planet!

Monte Alban, one of the oldest pyramidal communities in Mexico, near the city of Oaxaca in southern Mexico, thrived from 500 BC to 950 AD. It covers more than 1.5 square miles and included an astronomical observatory and temples where light streams through various portals in the stones on significant astronomical dates.

MONTE ALBAN

There is one point at the peak of a pyramid at Monte Alban where an energetic vortex is so strong that compasses spin rapidly in a circular direction. Scientists are only today beginning to discover the validity of the powerful energy vortices created by the pyramids due to their sacred geometric shape.

The excavations of Monte Alban began in earnest in the 1930s, and still continue  today. Archeological research shows a dynamic spiritual, commercial, and secular culture amidst the powerful pyramidal structures, which at the time were considered points of ascension for the dead.

STONE CARVINGS AT MONTE ALBAN

Another stunning pyramidal discovery occurred in 2016, when a developer broke ground on a shopping center in the Tlatelolco section of northern Mexico City and found a 700-year-old pyramid beneath the surface of the earth (underneath a grocery store that had previously been built there). The apex of the pyramid was missing because a church had been built alongside the pyramid, using the stones from the top of the pyramid!

The symbolism is rich-Spanish conquistadors and missionaries proudly built monuments to their spiritual beliefs from the ruins of the past. Yet, they dismantled the sacred sites of the indigenous people. And they built edifices that they thought represented more "modern"  ideas. While it is sad to see the destruction of the sacred ruins of the indigenous people and the potential  domination of one culture over another, the co-existence of pyramids and churches also suggests the blending of cultures that is emblematic of our collective movement to a higher age and a more united world.

Today in Mexico, churches and indigenous pyramids exist side-by-side in many places, such as at the pyramids of Mitla (see photos below), and at Cuilapan, where Pope John Paul in 1979 visited to make amends to the indigenous people for the actions of Christian missionaries in the 1500s-1600s. It is heartening to know that the fusion of cultures continues in Mexico-a name that contains the word "mix" in its origins.

In the photo below at Mitla, a pyramid with elaborate carvings representing the connection between humans and nature, exists side-by-side with a church.

The process of unearthing pyramids continues to this day in Mexico. We visited one pyramid only discovered in 1995. It is called Canada de la Virgen, near San Miguel de Allende, north of Mexico City. Due to the years it takes to go through governmental processes and carefully excavate the pyramids, Canada de la Virgen was not opened to the public until 2011.

And finally, we visited the well-known Teotihuacan, an 8-square mile complex just outside of Mexico City that thrived among Mayan, Aztec, Zapotec, and Mixtec people from 100 BC to 750 AD. Initially discovered in 1864, Teotihuacan features the Temple of the Sun, Temple of the Moon, and a solar observatory at the Palace of Queztlcoatl-an indigenous deity known as the feathered serpent. Teotihuacan is aligned with the equinox points and axis of the earth, and has representations of an indigenous calendar and its relation to the cycle of Venus.

At Teotihuacan and in many other places where excavations of ancient ruins have taken place, you can still find shards of pre-Columbian pottery -rich relics of the past-lying haphazardly on the ground. In Mexico, it is amazing to think how much history lays beneath one's feet!

It also reminds me that things come to the surface when they are ready to be known.
As more and more pyramids are discovered in our lifetimes, it tells me that people are becoming more open to and aware of the powerful connection between the heavens and earth. "As above, so below." We are but part of one greater consciousness, and as we attune ourselves to elements of nature that are bigger than ourselves, the more we can live, work, and be in harmony with those larger patterns and cycles that benevolently guide our lives.

Thus, let's continue to look at the planetary alignments for the autumn season so we can harmonize and work toward the highest expression for all.

The following are the most important eclipses impacting our world during the fall season:

* A New Moon Annular Solar Eclipse in Libra on October 14, 2023 will realign relationship dynamics. The eclipse will be visible in most of the United States, Mexico, Central America and northern South America.
* A Full Moon Partial Lunar Eclipse in Taurus on on October 28, 2023 will impact financial markets and cause reversals of prevailing trends. The eclipse will be visible in the northeastern United States, northeastern South America, Europe, Africa, India & Asia.

These powerful eclipses will be turning points in our world. They are likely to cause changes in governmental leadership, and populations will reverse previously held positions as they gather newly-exposed information. These new perspectives will ultimately present new opportunities and directions in our individual lives. You will be revisiting issues you last faced in 2004-05 on a higher level. If something is unresolved from that time, you will have a chance to resolve it at a higher level.

Overall, expect the fall season to be a time of dynamic change-all moving toward more authenticity, balance, efficiency, and in greater alignment with your soul and the loving being who you are.

If you would like to discover more about how the eclipses will affect you personally, feel free to reach out to me at: Laurie@LaurieBaum.com.

Many blessings for love & authenticity in the fall season, ♥️

Laurie

ARIES (March 21 - April 19)
The autumn season will be a time for you to focus on seeking harmony in your relationships! With your planetary ruler, Mars, in the opposing sign of Libra until October 11, you will be able to bring unfinished business to a conclusion. The Nodes of the Moon in Aries & Libra until the end of next year will make this a time to boldly assert your agenda when it is important to do so. A New Moon Solar Eclipse in Libra on October 14, 2023 will help you re-sculpt a relationship pattern. A Full Moon Lunar Eclipse on October 28, 2023 will help you choose a new direction for your financial planning. Mercury retrograde in Capricorn from December 13, 2023 to January 1, 2024 will help you end the year on a relaxing note.

TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)
The autumn season will be a beneficial time for you to make a positive change with lucky Jupiter and innovative Uranus both in Taurus! The completion of Venus retrograde on September 3, 2023 and the end of Mercury retrograde on September 15, 2023 also will give you the energy to bring peace & harmony to any relationships that have gone off-track. A New Moon Solar Eclipse on October 14, 2023 will help you change a fixed pattern so your life can proceed on a more efficient level. A Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Taurus on October 28, 2023 will clear away something that has been burdensome and bring a helpful person into your life. Make sure to reward this individual for the contribution they will make.

GEMINI (May 21 - June 21)
The completion of the retrograde of Mercury, your planetary ruler, on September 15, 2023, will launch you into a positive, productive period of growth. Make sure to re-examine and re-configure any details that have been overlooked during the summer season. Your mind moves quickly, but it will help if you slow down and re-check important documents and communications. A New Moon Annular Solar Eclipse in Libra on October 14, 2023 will heighten your creativity and prompt you to take a calculated risk. Again, make sure to check details before signing on the dotted line. A Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Taurus on October 28, 2023 will introduce you to a new concept that will help you improve your health. Mercury retrograde in Capricorn from December 13, 2023 to January 1, 2024 will enable you to make adjustments to any previous decisions that need revisions.

CANCER (June 22 - July 22)
You will be most sensitive to the alignments of the Moon during the autumn season, including the Harvest SuperMoon  on September 29 (when the Moon is closest to the Earth-and the horizon at sunset); the New Moon Solar Eclipse on October 14 (visible in much of the United States, Mexico, Central America, and northern South America); and the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Taurus on October 28, 2023 (visible in the northeastern United States, northeastern South America, Europe, Africa, India & Asia). These lunar energetic turning points will give you an opportunity to realign your life goals. The most important principle to keep in mind is solidifying your foundations so you can move forward confidently into your future. Decide what it is that you need in order to feel most aligned with your inner core powers. Is it emotional security? Financial ease? Physical safety? Creature comforts? If the answer is "yes" to any or all of the above, use this season to set your priorities!

LEO (July 23 - August 22)
Loving Venus in Leo until October 8, 2023 will highlight your creativity and dramatic flair. Use this time to express your novel ideas and attract others to your way of thinking. You will be warmly received at this time. Energetic Mars in Libra until October 11, 2023 also will enhance your ability to communicate to receptive audiences. Venus in the loving and balanced sign of Libra from November 8 to December 4, 2023 will further support your  open communication with loved ones. If there is something you've been meaning to say, this is the time to say it! A New Moon Annular Solar Eclipse in Libra on October 14, 2023 will bring some new people into your life, possibly in your neighborhood. And a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Taurus on October 28, 2023 will challenge you to temporarily give more than you receive. Gratitude and appreciation for your gifts will come later.

VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
Your birthday just before the Autumn Equinox on September 23, 2023 will begin a 52-day positive "solar" period in your life. This is the time to initiate projects, plans, and relationships that will guide the course of your next solar year. This is a highly auspicious time to get the ball rolling on your new ideas-and experience the success you need to launch your new birthday year. This is a great time to solidify your foundations! A New Moon Annular Solar Eclipse in Libra on October 14, 2023 will cause a reversal in financial outcomes. Plan conservatively to avoid shortfalls. A Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in the compatible earth sign of Taurus on October 28, 2023 will prompt you to communicate with someone you've fallen out of touch with. Communicative Mercury, your planetary ruler, in Virgo until October 4, and loving Venus in Virgo from October 8 to November 8, 2023, will help your relationships unfold most peacefully and harmoniously.

LIBRA (September 23 - October 23)
The Autumn Equinox on September 23, 2023 coincides with the entrance of the Sun into the sign of Libra. This is an excellent time to initiate new projects, plans, and relationships that will guide the course of your next year. You will be supported by energetic Mars in Libra until October 11, communicative Mercury in Libra from October 4 to 21, the Sun in Libra until October 23, and loving Venus in Libra from November 8 to November 4, 2023. You will be supported by lucky Jupiter in the Venus-ruled sign of Taurus until next May. This is your time to shine! A New Moon Annular Solar Eclipse in Libra on October 14, 2023 will help you decide upon a new goal or direction for your life. A Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Taurus on October 28, 2023 will help you gather the needed resources to implement your highest-priorities!

SCORPIO (October 24 - November 21)
A New Moon Annular Solar Eclipse in Libra on October 14, 2023 will awaken wisdom from your subconscious that will help you to make a decision about your life direction with the wisdom of your soul. A powerful experience from your personal past-or a prior incarnation-contains knowledge that you can now implement. A Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in your opposing sign of Taurus on October 28, 2023 will alter the direction of a long-term relationship. There is an aspect to this relationship that is not practical for your future. Once the discord is identified, you will be able to work around the misalignment. It's important, however, to be realistic about everyone's limitations. Your journey will be supported by energetic Mars in Scorpio from October 11 to November 24, communicative Mercury in Scorpio from October 21 to November 9, the Sun in Scorpio from October 23 to November 22, and Venus in Scorpio from December 4 to 29, 2023. The spotlight will be on you with so much celestial energy concentrated in the Sign of the Scorpion during the autumn season!

SAGITTARIUS (November 22 - December 21)
A New Moon Annular Solar Eclipse in Libra on October 14, 2023 will bring a new person into your social circle and widen your access to new ideas. A New Moon Lunar Eclipse in Taurus on October 28, 2023 will prompt you to rest, rejuvenate, and consolidate your energies. You are usually a gregarious soul, but sometimes it's important to withdraw a bit and recharge your batteries. Mid-October will be the time to do so. Until then, loving Venus in the compatible fire sign of Leo until October 8, 2023 will support you to explore new people and places. Communicative Mercury in Sagittarius from November 9 to December 1, 2023, will energize you and support you to express your many inspired ideas. You believe strongly in what you believe-and this will be the time to share with others the causes and ideas that you are passionate about!

CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)
A New Moon Solar Eclipse in Libra on October 14, 2023 will open your eyes to a new opportunity you previously dismissed. You last encountered similar circumstances in 2004. Don't let this chance for a new direction pass you by! A Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in the compatible earth sign of Taurus on October 28, 2023 will challenge a previous assumption and expose you to new information. Don't be afraid to recalibrate your values. This will bring you a greater sense of ease and relaxation. Communicative Mercury in the compatible earth sign of Virgo until October 4, and loving Venus in Virgo from October 8 to November 8, 2023, will help you find supportive people with whom you can align your activities. You feel a greater sense of security when people share your goals and values, and move in the same direction as you are going! A goat climbing a mountain (Capricorn=mountain goat) is happiest when others are moving in the same direction and not obstructing your path!

AQUARIUS (January 20 - February 18)
A New Moon Solar Eclipse in Libra on October 14, 2023 will fuel your intellectual curiosity. A Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Taurus on October 28, 2023, will then challenge  a current direction. An alignment between lucky Jupiter and innovative Uranus will then prompt you to explore a direction you hadn't considered before. It could represent a radical departure from the past. This could involve an attitude, action, person, or place. Stay open-minded throughout the autumn season for many surprise opportunities. You are a peaceful and accepting individual who is receptive to the ideas of others. Listen carefully to what resonates with you! The autumn season will give you an opportunity to readjust and reconfigure the elements of your daily routine.

PISCES (February 19 - March 20)
A New Moon Solar Eclipse in Libra on October 14, 2023 will help you deepen your awareness of an internal emotional-mental pattern that you routinely follow. Say you hear good news. Do you celebrate, or do you think about what could go wrong? And, if you hear bad news, do you think about how to make the best of it, how to get around it, or do you feel hopeless and sink into depression? Consider how your outlook impacts the actions you take. A Full Moon Solar Eclipse in Taurus on October 28, 2023 will help you get in touch with untapped, hidden resources within yourself that will enable you to confront both good & bad news with optimism and equanimity. Mars in the compatible water sign of Scorpio from October 11 to November 24, communicative Mercury in Scorpio from October 21 to November 9, the Sun in Scorpio from October 23 to November 22, and Venus in Scorpio from December 4 to 29 will help you connect with people who will understand you.
